FULL TUTORIAL ON HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS O.S ON APPLE SYSTEM WITH MAC O.S.
How to install Windows using Boot Camp.
Have you been asking questions about the computer system you bought, called Apple?
Maybe, because you are seeing a different thing from what you expected to see, about its operation. Perhaps, it is different from the ones you have seen or taught with, and now, you can’t locate where files and applications are found, even the settings you wanted to effect couldn’t be found, let alone asking where to click, in order to enable it.
There is what call “Operating System” in I.T world. That is what is existing in this very system you bought, and looks different in its entirety.
It is a fact that Microsoft Corp. has taken over Africa. And as such, all what everyone knows is Windows Operating System, and that is what you were taught with, but weren’t exposed to other Operating Systems, such as this particular one that is in the computer system you just bought.
I guess you have been upgrading systems or formatting computer system with the same Operating System, maybe with a higher version or the same version, in order to refresh the usage or clear all existing applications from the scratch but not with another Operating System entirely.
This is the problem I am here to discuss today:
The fact is that, the normal way you have been formatting your personal computer with the same Operating System and formatting this one you just bought that has Mac Operating System is totally different, and you need a guide in order to achieve this.
Follow the steps that I am about to reveal to you right away, in order to get to the desired destination aforementioned, but put in mind that we are using a third party program to perform this, and it is called Boot Camp!
Boot Camp helps you install Microsoft Windows on your Mac. After installing, restart your Mac to switch between Operating System (O.S.) i.e. OS X and Windows.
Before we begin the processes to be given below, make sure you have everything you will need:
1. An Intel-based Mac.
2. A Microsoft Windows installation disk image (ISO).
3. An Apple keyboard, mouse, or trackpad, or a USB keyboard and USB mouse.
4. At least 55 GB of unused disk space on your start up drive or local disk.
5. For most Mac models, you also need a blank 16 GB or larger USB flash drive.
And you need to know that;
· Windows XP: Home Edition or Professional with Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3 requires Boot Camp 3.
· Windows Vista: Home Basic, Home Premium, Business, or Ultimate, Service Pack 1 or later requires Boot Camp 3.
· Windows 7: Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate requires Boot Camp 4 or 5.1)
You don't need a USB flash drive for MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2015), MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015), MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015), iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2015), iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Mid 2015), and Mac Pro (Late 2013). These models use the internal drive to temporarily store what you need to install Windows.
System Requirements for Windows 7:
To install Windows 7 and earlier using Boot Camp, you need the following:
· An Internet connection.
· An administrator account in OS X to use Boot Camp Assistant.
· The keyboard and mouse or trackpad that came with your Mac (If they aren’t available, use a USB keyboard and mouse).
· A minimum of 2 GB of RAM.
· 30 GB of free disk space is recommended if you're installing Windows for the first time, or 40 GB of free disk space if you are upgrading from a previous version of Windows.
· An authentic Microsoft Windows full install disc or ISO file.
· A built-in optical drive, or a compatible external optical drive is required if you're using an install disc.
· A 16 GB or larger USB storage device or drive formatted as MS-DOS (FAT) to install Windows Support software (drivers).
Below marks the procedures:
Get a Windows disk image:
When you purchase Windows, it comes as a disk image file (ISO) that you download, or as an installation disc or USB flash drive. If your copy of Windows came on a DVD, you might need to create a disk image of it to work with Boot Camp. If your version of Windows came on a USB flash drive, you can download an ISO from Microsoft.
Open Boot Camp Assistant:
Boot Camp Assistant guides you through installing Windows on your Mac. Open this app from the Utilities folder in the Applications folder and follow the onscreen instructions to automatically re-partition your startup disk and download related software drivers for Windows. If you're prompted during installation, connect a blank USB flash drive.
Format your Windows partition
When you complete the assistant, your Mac restarts to the Windows installer. When you're asked where you want to install Windows, select the BOOTCAMP partition, then click Format.
Install Window:
Follow the onscreen prompts to finish your Windows installation.
Restart your computer:
After Windows is installed, you can switch between OS X and Windows. Use the Startup Disk preference pane in OS X, or the Boot Camp system tray item in Windows to select your startup disk, then restart your computer.
That's all.
But do you know that BOOT CAMP provides solution to other problems as using it?
Below marks them.
I hope this helped?
Comment your problem, if there is any, and we will respond to that as soon as possible.
Thanks for being here.
Enjoy!!!
